Coronavirus update:
Following the COVID-19 pandemic Aquilia Acupuncture incorporates measures recommended by the Government in order to mitigate viral transmission to keep our vulnerable patients, and ourselves safe. We review the Department of Health England, and NHS guidance.
We are not required to close at this time.
We have a continuity and contingency plan, and for our at risk patients that are pregnant or subfertile, we follow information published by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), Human Fertilisation Embryo Authority (HFEA), and ESHRE on pregnancy and conception with ART.
A majority of our clients are at an increased risk of severe illness if infected COVID-19, and are already implementing social distancing measures. Clients at increased risk have been classified as:
Pregnant women
Overweight BMI40
Weakened immune system
Social Distancing
Social distancing are steps and measures taken to reduce social interaction between people in order to reduce transmission of a virus. Recommendation on how to implement social distancing include to avoid:
contact with a person displaying symptoms of COVID-19
non-essential use of public transportation (off peak times are recommended if public transport us is unavoidable)
large gatherings
* small gatherings (including pubs, clubs, restaurants, theatres, cinemas)*
gathering with friends and family in person
Working from from home (if possible) is recommended.
Our acupuncture services provide no alternative care model. As a provider of health and social care including those at an increased risk of severe illness of COVID-19 we are reviewing each patient’s case and agreeing an individualised care plan.
This is to ensure people can continue to receive care for their health and wellbeing in a safe environment while also considering whether the appointment can be postponed.
We adhere to Strict Standards of Infection Control Precautions (SICPs) and Transmission Precautions. Including hand hygiene, ventilation, implemented distance during a treatment of 2 metres, cleaning of frequently touched hard surfaces with an approved specialist clinic disinfectant between each client. One patient at a time policy, and the treatment of only individuals who do not have symptoms of COVID-19 or those where a member of their household has symptoms.
An acupuncture appointment is cancelled if:
a) A client has a fever 38.7 and above or and a new and continuous cough
b) Anyone in the client’s household has a fever or and new and continuous cough
We can reschedule after the recommended period of self-isolation. These measures protect patients and the clinician and are reviewed.
An appointment will be cancelled when:
a) There is a new continuous cough and or a fever or your acupuncturist feels unwell.
If you have any questions about your treatment please contact Lianne Aquilina.
